It’s Not Easy Being Green (and Gold in RVA)

Top 10 reasons it is not easy to be a Mason Alum in Richmond, Virginia…

Gunston

“Gunston the …” – well he is green.

#10. University of Richmond Alum (if you can find one that did not move back to New England) reminiscing of the “good old” pre-A10 days in the ’80s and early ’90s when Dick Tarrant was the coach, they beat Mason in multiple CAA finals, and they made it to the Sweet 16.

#9. VCU HAVOC billboards on I-95 and the new VCU/MCV seal on every bus.

#8. You wear your Mason Green & Gold with pride but people think you went to William & Mary.

#7. Your kids go to VCU to stay close to home and/or to go school w/ friends.

#6. Lawyers from UVA law school.

#5. You call a sports bar to organize a watch party and they (all) answer “Home of the VCU Rams”.

#4. Engineers from Virginia Tech.

#3. You’ve had the same Dentist for 20 years and three years ago he would vehemently argue that he graduated from MCV not VCU. At your next check-up, he’s wearing a VCU golf shirt.

#2. You tell your neighbor that her kid should apply to GMU and she tells you her daughter did apply (to James Madison).
